Custom Fabrication & Machining

Orbis Machinery, LLC is capable of manufacturing prototype and custom fabrications. We can fabricate your part from carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum and a variety of other specialty alloys from plate and sheet gauge materials. We specialize in highly engineered components & systems, up to 200 tons. Our custom fabrication and machining capabilities support the same process equipment we design and build, including mixers, dryers, mills, and other systems used in production environments. Plenty of projects involve replacement parts or one-off builds that tie into running lines or plant upgrades. Our facility handles forming, cutting, welding, and finishing work in-house, where we hold full control of fit and function. We maintain a full suite of industry certifications, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 38342, EN 15085, ASME Stamps – R and U, AWS, CWB, and AISC. We also assist customers with modifications and component upgrades for process performance and longer equipment service life.

Sample Fabrications Include:

  • Vessels
  • Hoppers
  • Enclosures
  • Transitions
  • Piping
  • Equipment Stands
  • Support Structures
  • Covers
  • Guards
  • Ancillary Components for connecting up and downstream equipment
Many of our custom fabrication projects involve one-off process pieces that have to fit into existing equipment where nothing is standard. Some require sanitary construction for food or chemical use, others must handle high pressure, heat, or abrasive materials. We also fabricate components that connect new and legacy equipment, transition points that need to line up and perform dependably the first time they’re installed. Each job moves through drawing review and inspection before fabrication proceeds. Detailed records are kept for material traceability and weld procedures on every custom fabrication project. We build and modify parts for rebuild projects and reverse-engineered components when prints are not available. Our custom fabrication team works with engineering to match materials, wall thicknesses, and connections to the original design or new requirements.
